Mysuru: The 32nd anniversary of the Swaralaya Music Institute at Ramakrishnanagar was held at Ganabharathi Hall at Kuvempunagar here in associaiton with the Department of Kannada and Culture, Bengaluru on Tuesday May 10.
Retired Assistant Director of Mysuru Akashvani and Karnataka Kalashree Award winner G. Rajalakshmi Sridhar was the chief guest at the event.
Speaking on the occasion, she said, “Parents need to support their children to pursue music. Karnataka music has a touch of divinity. Opening in 1990, the Swaralaya Music Company is celebrating its 32nd anniversary. Any association or organisation running for several years is not an easy task.”
Mysuru Veena Vidwan T. M. Shankar, a renowned scholar, who created privileges for children in music was also present at the event.
Swaralaya Sangeetha Samsthe Founder Director Vidushi Dr. Suma Harinath presided over the programme.
