Theatre festival, Bahurupi to be held from March 11 to 20

Mysuru: The Rangayana will organise Bahurupi, a national level theatre festival from March 11 to 20.

Speaking to mediapersons , Rangayana Director Addanda Cariappa informed that the festival was deferred owing to Covid. He said that the festival will be held under the theme, Mother. He said a seminar will also be held on the occasion.

He said mother and motherhood can be seen  through five concepts, land, cattle, water, forest and people. He said  preparations are on to exhibit best dramas of many states and languages. He said folk exhibition, film festival, books exhibition, arts and crafts exhibition, demonstration, and food festival are also organised to mark Bahurupi.

He said more than 35 dramas will be presented  and women are given prominence. Noted artistes such as Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi, Amol Palekar, Parakrama Niriyalla from Srilanka, Prasanna, and Anantnag would participate in the festival.
