Mysuru: State Primary and High School Education Minister B. C. Nagesh made it clear that uniform is compulsory in all schools and colleges of the State.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday February 6 he said that the State Government in its order has informed that no entry will be given to those coming with hijab, shawl, and without uniform. He said the Government would initiate action against violators, and that students should concentrate on education. He said the Government
issued order based on Karnataka Education Act, 1983. The Act was not introduced by the BJP Government , this is erstwhile Congress Government which had enforced it, he added.
Minister said that the Government has no bad intentions of making girls of a particular community education deprived. He said the trouble began after few persons bred poison seeds among students prompting them to wear hijab claiming it as religious right. He said of the 92 students, only six started wearing hijab which created commotion. He added that the world knows that in whose hands popular front is and which organisation is behind hijab commotion. Students wore hijab only after their provocation, he alleged. He said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s lack of knowledge made him speak in favour of Hijab. He said people know what concern the Congress have about Muslim girls despite ruling for over five decades. He added that Italy, France, Srilanka and even many Muslim countries have already banned hijab.
