Mysuru: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari arrived in Mysuru on Wednesday June 8
Gadkari met Mysuru – Kodagu BJP Member of Parliament Prathap Simha and the latter submitted a memorandum urging the Minister to upgrade the Mysuru – Nanjanagudu National Highway (NH – 212) from the existing four-lane highway into a six-lane one. This extension of the highway would provide safe passage to Mandakalli Airport in Mysuru and will be a boost to Kadakola and Thandavapura Industrial area, said Simha.
Apart from the extension of NH- 212, Simha also submitted a memorandum to the Union minister, seeking approval for a series of road developmental works to be undertaken in Mysuru City and rural areas, which the minister has approved.
Gadkari also called on Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Matha at the foot of Chamundi Hill here on Thursday June 9. The seer felicitated Gadkari on the occasion.
The Union Minister spent sometime with the Seer and received his blessings. Lok Sabha Member Simha and other BJP leaders and members were present.
According to tour programme, the Minister would stay in Pollibetta in Kodagu District tonight and would stay till Monday June 13 at Taj Vivanta near Madikeri. The minister would leave for Nagpur on Monday morning.
