Mysuru: More than 100 women donated their hair for the cause of cancer patients. The programme was organised by Mysuru Hair and Beauty Association in memory of actor Puneeth Rajkumar at Niveditha Nagar in the City. From teens to professional women many responded to the call.
As the earlier hair donation campaign went viral, many of the women from other districts too sent their hair through courier to the Association.
Sandalwood actress Hrushika Raj of Tagaru Movie fame inaugurated the campaign and also donated her hair for the cause. Around 80 to 100 college students, medical professionals and police also followed the suit. Apart from Mysuru, women from Bengaluru, Shivamogga and Kodagu also sent their hair to the Association.
Mysuru Hair and Beauty Association President Uma Jadhav said that we had not anticipated such response. Indian Cancer Society in collaboration with Bengaluru Hair Donation organised the camp. Both the organisations will give e-Certificate to the donors. There is already a demand from many to organise more of such events,” Uma Jadhav added.
