Mysuru: Shree Lakshmi Narahari Seva Trust will conduct Deerga Satra Mahayajnam, a daily Yajna for 12 years (4,372 days) at Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Kshetram, Srinivasa Kshetram Road in Belagola starting May 13, 2022 to May 1, 2034.

Addressing mediapersona at Mysuru Press Club at Agrahara here on Wednesday May 11,  V. Lakshmi Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Trustee of Shree Lakshmi Narahari Seva Trust, said “Sri Vishvamangala Lakshminarasimha Swami Devasthanam, a very unique and exalted shrine dedicated to Lord Lakshminarasimha, is situated on the outskirts of the Mysuru City (near Belagola village on KRS Road), has embarked on a very ambitious, pioneering and unique programme of conducting a daily Yajna, which is to be held continuously for 12 long years from May 13, 2022 to May 1, 2034 (4372 days), he informed.

Further, he said, “The principal aim of this Mahayajna (Great Vedic Sacrifice) is to strive for the welfare and betterment of Bharata Desha, that will eventually result in global peace, prosperity, and wellness of the entire world apart from also being beneficial for individuals to attain health, wealth, happiness, progeny, all round success in life, material prosperity and spiritual evolution. The ancient Indian texts of yore contain references to such Yajnas spread over long periods of time like 12 years, 24 years and so on. A peek into our later history reveals that the last time such a Yajna spread over 12 years was conducted more than 700 years ago and a Yajna of such magnitude in terms of time and human resources has not been conducted thereafter.”

Dr. M. A. Alwar, Chief Coordinator, Shree Lakshmi Narahari Seva Trust, who also spoke, said “The Lakshminarahari Seva Trust which is organising this unique and pioneering event has successfully organised events of such magnitude in the past (including the Lakshmi-Narasimha-Koti-Mahayagna wherein more than 1 crore oblations were offered). This Nityamahayajna will be conducted by several groups of Vedic priests from all over India and belonging to the four branches of Vedas. Apart from that, Vedic scholars from all over the country will congregate and chant the respective Vedic texts, with the correct diction, etc. Overall, it will be a unique occasion wherein all are welcome to participate and wash off their sins and attain both material and spiritual prosperity.”
