New School Building Soon for Haraganapura Kids
The report revealed that students were being taught on the verandah floor due to shortage of classrooms at the government lower primary school in Haraganapura. The situation drew public concern, prompting local leaders and officials to step in.
MLA Darshan Dhruvanarayan stated that a letter had already been sent to the Education Minister, requesting approval for an additional school building. Following the news coverage, Field Education Officer M. Mahesh visited the school to inspect conditions firsthand.
Currently, more than 25 students from Class 1 to 5 are crammed into a single room. Expressing disapproval over students being taught on the verandah, Mahesh instructed that all classes be held in one room for now, despite space limitations. He acknowledged that the existing building is dilapidated and emphasized the urgent need for reconstruction.
“We will submit a report recommending demolition of the old building and immediate construction of a new one,” said Mahesh. He assured villagers that action would be taken promptly to provide a safer and more suitable learning environment.
Villagers thanked News Karnataka for highlighting the issue, calling the media’s role pivotal in driving change and ensuring the wellbeing of rural schoolchildren.
