Mysuru: The City Police Commissioner allayed the fears of people by stating the suspected item found at People’s Park in the city this morning was not a bomb but just a power bank.
Soon after the police control room received an anonymous call, dog squad accompanied by bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot, where suspected explosive items were kept and diffused them. On verification, it was found to be a power bank meant for 50 batteries, said Dr. Subramanyehswar Rao.
Police are investigating whether the item was thrown randomly or intentionally kept to spread panic. Serious action will be taken against those, in case of motive, Dr. Rao warned
Police are also investigating the case of engineering student, who is suspected to have been forced to execute terror acts, he stated and added there was no need to panic at all.
