Officials seize two truckloads of plastic bags below 40 microns in Mysuru

Mysuru: Banned plastic bags thinner than 40 microns, which were illegally brought to sell have been seized by the officials here on Wednesday, October 19.

The officers have seized two trucks along with the load of banned plastic bags.

Over two loads of banned plastic bags were brought illegally to the godown by SANS Carriers. Mysuru City Corporation which declared Mysuru a ‘plastic-free city’ has banned usage of plastic bags thinner than 40 microns. Despite the ban, bags were brought illegally to sell which was however seized in a raid carried out by the city corporation team led by health officer Dr Nagaraj.

The officer has directed to file a criminal case against the accused.
