Mysuru: Fans of actor Puneeth Rajkumar on Friday December 3 made an abortive bid to install the bust of the actor, as the attempt was thwarted by the police.
A few youth of Lingambudi Palya were preparing to install the bust in the middle of the median at Lingambudi Palya and RT Nagar Ring Road junction. The bust was being installed as a mark of commemoration of the actor who passsed away on October 29.
Kuvempunagara Police stopped the youth from going ahead with their plans and seized the bust.
Manju of Lingambudhi Palya said, “we are the fans of Puneeth Rajkumar. We are also aware about the rules not to install the bust in the middle of the road. Despite knowing that we were making arrangements to install the bust at the median, police intervened and thrashed some of the youth,” he alleged.
Youth are demanding the police to return the bust. If not, we will make
alternative arrangements, he added.
