Mysuru: In an ironic turn of events, the wife of a Police Sub-inspector went to the police station Vijayanagar, to file a missing report of her husband.

SI Guruprasad was appointed as Sub-inspector in 2013. Presently residing in Hebbala in Mysuru, he was serving in the fingerprint squad. He applied for a month-long leave to appear for the Karnataka Public Service Commission exam.

But reportedly he was absent on duty for three months without permission. On October 7, he had been to the District police commissioner’s office to join for duty. As the SP was busy with work, he refused to meet him. Upset over his failed attempt to meet the SP, Guruprasad returned home. He told his wife that he would come back and left his mobile phone, purse and other belongings at home and left the house but never returned, his wife reported.

Vijayanagar police have registered a missing complaint in this regard.
