Mysuru: Who doesn’t know Professor K S Bhagavan? The one author who is much talked about for his comments on the very existence of Lord Rama, Rama Sethu and questioning the holy scriptures of the Hindus Ramayan and Bhagavadgita.
The professor has yet again incited communal sentiments stating that “Maryada Purushottam” (man of principles) Lord Rama was consuming alcohol.
He has mentioned this in his new book titled “Rama Mandira Yeke Beda?” (Why do we not need Ram Mandir?)
He has referred to Sarga 42 of the Ramayana’s Uttara Kanda.
Bhagavan has quoted a shloka (hymn) which says “Sitaamaadaya Hasthena Madhu Maireyakam” which according to him means that Lord Ram used to have alcohol and meat with Goddess Sita.
He has also gone ahead explaining the shloka stating that the female dancers were also consuming alcohol and performing in front of Lord Rama.
This explanation can be found in page number 101.
The statement has taken the social media by storm.
