Mysuru: Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that this Union Budget is a destructive Budget.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday February 1 he said that this Budget is not as per expectations of the people of the country but has betrayed the beliefs of people.
He said that this Budget has dashed hopes of women, middle class people and farmers. He said the government has presented Rs. 34 lakh Crore Budget last year, and this year it has raised it to Rs. 39 Lakh Crore.
He said the government going to get approximately over Rs. 11 lakh Crore credit which is highest. During last 8 years Modi government has availed loan worth over 93 Lakh Crore while Manamohan Singh government availed Rs. 53 Lakh Crore loan, he said
Siddu added that during Modi regime the country is going to whirl in credit. Every year country has to pay 9.40 Lakh Crore interest. The Budget has reserved Rs. 38,000 Crore less to employment guarantee scheme. It should reserve more for employment owing to Covid distress, he noted. He said the health sector also has not been given suitable grants. But BJP is boasting that country is prosperous under Modi which is a big lie, he stressed.
He further said the government has reduced subsidy to fertilisers. He said the government is promising to join all rivers since regime of Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee and on the other hand irrigational projects of State Government is still pending. He said budget should reflect the priorities of the country but nothing of that kind seen in this Budget, he said.
