Mysuru: A marathon runner from Bengaluru is on a bicycle expedition to add power to the fight against sexual assault demanding strong enforcement of law against the rapists.
On his eventful journey, Kiran V is meeting all the deputy commissioners and submitting memorandum to tighten laws and create awareness against heinous crime against women. He is pursuing his second year BA at Government College, Bannerghatta, Bengaluru.
Kiran who reached Mysuru on Monday November 15 told reporters that I am a Bengalurean and have travelled over 3500 kilometres in 86 days creating awareness against rape. I was shocked to hear about the rape of a minor girl in 2020 and it acted as a spur to spread awareness.”
Kiran added, ”Initially the response to the campaign in first ten districts I had visited was cold. Later my campaign received a huge
support on social media and the response is good now.”
As part of his campaign, Kiran has Chamarajanagar, Mandya and Ramanagara districts on his itinerary now.
