Mysuru: “It would take more than a week to narrate the long list of corruption cases against the Congress party-led Siddaramaiah government in the state”, ridiculed Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), National president Amit Shah, addressing the valedictory of Parivartan rally in Mysuru on January 25.
“The ‘pro-farmer’ state government has failed to stop the suicides of over 2500 farmers; socialist chief minister wears watch costing Rs 70 Lakh and more than 20 Hindu activists have died during the tenure of the present state government which boasts of protecting people”, Shah said, ridiculing the state CM and his government and sounded confident of BJP’s victory in the state in the forthcoming assembly elections.
“There is sufficient enough evidence in my possession against the corrupt state Congress government,” claimed shah and asked people to overthrow the present regime and elect BJP government led by B S Yeddyurappa.
Pleased with a healthy crowd participation of over 30,000 people at the rally despite Karnataka bandh organised by pro-Kannada organisations, Shah listed the failures of the government on several fronts.
Terming BSY as the future chief minister of the state, Amit Shah lauded his efforts in covering all the 224 constituencies by travelling over 8000 kms across the length and breadth of the state.
Goddess Chamundeshwari dwells in the holy land and the deity will punish the corrupt and proud state chief minister, opined Shah, while denouncing the state government’s move of observing Tipu Jayanti to appease a section of the people.
The union government is keen on the uplifting the people from backward lower classes by bringing in changes to the constitution and introduction of triple talaq bill is one such move which ensures the dignity of Muslim women, Shah said, claiming to remove the social disparities that exist in Indian society.
Accusing the state government of being sunk in deep corruption, Shah said the state ministers were involved in the scams and had not even spared the money from beds supplied to scheduled caste and tribe students. Arkavathi Layout denotification, rampant illegal sand mining reflect the voluminous corruption of the state government, he alleged. After the central government got hold of CM’s aide Govindraj’s dairy, most including the man at the helm were sleepless, ridiculed Shah.
Modi government has given Rs 1.3 Lakh Crores to the state during the 14th finance commission term whereas the previous UPA regime gave only Rs 88000 Crores, claimed Shah adding, “But it appears that more than 1 Lakh Crore rupees have been siphoned off going by the condition of roads in rural areas, farmers’ plight and dared CM for a debate on accounts. Congress leaders who were travelling in ordinary two-wheelers and staying in sheeted roof houses five years ago are now in cars and staying in plush residences, said Shah.
The district unit of BJP welcomed the party national chief by offering a huge garland. Shah arrived from New Delhi in a special flight and landed at Mandakalli airport, where he was received by state BJP leaders before proceeding to the Parivartan rally venue.
