The video which captured K R Nagar MLA S R Mahesh’s son assaulting an innocent youth in the company of his friends went viral on social media. The general opinion of those who have seen the video is that the father will have to pay a political price for the acts of his son in the upcoming assembly election.
S R Mahesh has been winning consistently from K R Nagar constituency. He has endeared himself to his constituents by consistently carrying out various developmental works and keeping his fingers on the electorate’s pulse. He also has a tendency to reach out to people in times of need and on multiple occasions has offered financial assistance during weddings as well as funerals. Together with his secular approach, SR Mahesh succeeded in drawing people from all communities and runs an ambulance service as well to serve people.

Reacting to the video, S R Mahesh attempted to defend his son, saying that the reality is different. S R Mahesh did not rule out the possibilities of a plot by his detractors to defame him. He was even seen wiping a tear or two while defending his son’s action, indicating that he felt deeply pained, but the effect will only be known once the assembly election process gathers steam.
