SP’s precautionary measures on New Year eve likely to dampen the spirit of revellers

Mysuru: Superintendent of Police, Dr. Subramanyeshwara Rao has issued orders to all revellers standing on their toes to usher the New Year to indulge in peaceful celebrations without causing inconvenience to the public.
He has warned of action against all those violating the orders in the guise of fun on New Year eve. Hotels, restaurants, pubs and resorts are permitted to keep their doors open till 12.30 pm. They are not allowed to serve liquor beyond 12.30 pm and this rule does not apply for CL-2 liquor shops. The ones who intend to serve liquor beyond 12.30 pm have to take special permission from the excise department and submit a copy to the jurisdictional police.

Speeding, drunken driving, racing and wheeling are not allowed on that night. Cars are not permitted to play loud music and revellers are cautioned not to trouble general public including women.

Hotels, restaurants, pubs and resorts planning special programmes and events are supposed to take prior permission and sound system should not cause inconvenience to outsiders staying beyond the periphery of the event location.

Entry will be restricted to Chamundi Hills beyond 10pm for all except the residents. Consuming liquor in open places like grounds, parks is banned and even occupants inside cars are not allowed to consume liquor.

Displaying obscene content, nude dance performances and gambling are banned. Hotels, restaurants, pubs and resorts have to provide adequate security arrangements for peaceful New Year celebrations. Customers heading back home after the party should be dropped at their respective houses by taxis, cars and auto rickshaws without charging extra amount.

City police are planning providing adequate security with traffic and law and order patrol vehicles keeping vigil on all the areas.
