Mysuru: Four students of JSS Law College, Mysuru were remanded to judicial custody on Wednesday, October 28, on charges of assaulting policemen.

A group of nine students hailing from Mizoram had rented a house behind Kamakshi Hospital in Saraswatipuram. According to sources, on Monday night, the students were celebrating a friend’s birthday in the rented house. The birthday bash went overboard with students allegedly creating a ruckus after getting drunk. Disturbed with the chaos, a lady questioned them who in turn allegedly got beaten up by the students. Raged with this, the lady lodged a complaint with the local police.

It is said that the students even thrashed the cops who arrived at the spot. With this regard, five students were arrested. However, a girl from the group called up her father and conveyed the message. As the girl turned out to be a Mizoram minister’s daughter, she was released on bail.
