Swachh Survekshan 2021: Mysuru 12th cleanest city in India

Mysuru: The results Swachh Survekshan 2021, which were announced by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India on Saturday November 20, the Mysuru that figured in top five cleanest cities in India has gone down to the 12th position in the list of cities with a population above 1 lakh. However, it has been ranked seventh among cities with a population between 1 lakh and 10 lakh.

As a consolation, the City has been adjudged the best medium sized self-sustaining city and also received 5-star rating under the garbage-free city category.

Other notable mentions in the list are Hubballi-Dharwad that has been declared fastest mover medium city, and Bengaluru that has been recognised as fastest mover mega city among urban local bodies with more than 40 lakh population. Smaller cities such as Mudhol has been declared the fastest mover in South Zone with a population between 50,000 and 1 lakh. Hosadurga and Kumta have been declared the cleanest city and best self-sustainable city in the South Zone among urban local bodies with a population between 25,000 and 50,000, respectively. KR Nagar too figures as the best city under citizens’ feedback category in South Zone among cities with a population between 25,000 and 50,000.
