Abhi’s family members in tensed position
Mysuru: Tense situation prevailed after family members, relatives and friends of 14-year-old boy who came for treatment for hearing related problem became critical at KR Hospital. The family members alleged that it is due to negligence of doctors that Abhi, who was normal before getting admitted to hospital fell sick after he was given anesthesia injection.
On Monday, based on doctors’ advice Abhi from Ullahalli village of Nanjangud Taluk got admitted to KR Hospital to undergo operation for hearing related problems. After getting admitted to the hospital, the boy was administered an anesthetic injection so as to go ahead with an operation. Soon his health started deteriorating. Though there was some improvement on Wednesday, his health condition worsened on Thursday and he was put on ventilator.
Gowramma, mother of Abhi and a daily wager worker said that he has had hearing problem over the last five years.
“My son was fine and healthy. But on Tuesday morning after he was given local anesthesia injection, he became very serious and critical and now he is on ventilator. I want my son to be cured. Those responsible for his condition should be punished,” said Gowramma, who lost her husband ten years ago.
Dr Srinivas, Superintendent of KR Hospital who is going all out to provide best possible treatment to Abhi said, “We have deputed doctors and experts who are continuously monitoring him. His condition is critical and he is on life support system. Now our top priority is to provide best service to Abhi”.
