Mandya: In an accident at Butanahosuru village, two persons lost their lives and one was injured on Monday, November 12.
The deceased have been identified as Putta (30), a resident of Ballenahalli village of Srirangapatna and Rajanna (50) of Jaipura village of Mandya.
Rajanna’s wife Nagamma was severely injured and has been admitted to the district hospital.
On the account of ‘Karthika Somavara’ (auspicious Monday dedicated to Lord Shiva, in the Karthika month of Hindu calendar), Rajanna and Nagamma had been to Doddarasinakere village of Mandya by motorcycle to offer pooja to their family deity.
While returning, Putta joined them and sat behind Nagamma on the bike at Ballenahalli village.
Due to the triple ride, Rajanna lost control and rammed into an electric pole.
Both Rajanna and Putta died on spot and Nagamma was severely injured.
A case is been filed in the rural police station concerned and the investigation is on.
