Mysuru: Two persons have been arrested in the Chamarajanagar temple poisoning case which has claimed 11 people’s lives so far. About 93 devotees are battling for their lives in the various hospitals of Chamarajnagar and Mysuru.
Devotees of Kichukatti Maramma temple in Sulwadi village of Chamarajanagar taluk were poisoned after consuming pesticide laced tomato rice and flavoured water. Among the dead, two were children.
Several crows dead
The police are in search of five more accused in the case. Death of many crows too has been reported after they consumed prasadam, sources said.
The patients are recovering and responding well to the treatment, reportedly. Former chief minister Siddaramaiah visited the hospitals and interacted with the victims and instructed the doctors to provide proper care to the patients.The hospitals were also visited by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy who has announced Rs 5 Lakh compensation to the victims’ families.
