The tree lovers alleged that four trees were cut overnight  in front of a hospital on Vivekananda Road near Yadavagiri Tarasu circle. The Gulmohar tree located in front of the hospital has been providing clean air, shade and shelter to hospital patients and citizens for the last 40 years. Protestors were outraged that the trees were cut down overnight. The environmentalists performed final rites for the trees through a priest.

Also, offering floral  tributes to the tree, tree lovers said you gave oxygen to  lakhs of people, gave shelter to hundreds of birds and
insect pests. However, we lost you today, and it’s painful. The tree lovers took pledge that they would prevent cutting of trees anywhere in the City in future.

Tree lovers came down heavily on Forest Department and MCC officers for allowing felling of trees.
