Mysuru: The vaccination initiative for the children in the age group of 12-14 years began in the State on Wednesday March 16. Accordingly, the process has begun in the District in earnest.
Krishnaraja Constituency BJP MLA S. A. Ramadas inaugurated the proceedings at SMT Hospital in Krishnamurthypuram in the City in the morning of Wednesday.
He said, “Vaccination is a way to fight the Coronavirus pandemic. Booster dose for people over the age of 60 has also begun. India boasts of giving Rs. 175 Crore vaccination doses so far. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special concern for children and the vaccination drive is in this direction. The District has around 1,37,000 children and they will be vaccinated without fail. Our preparations began soon after the third wave made its presence felt.”
The MLA said, “There is a special allocation for children in the State Budget. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has allocated Rs. 34,000 Crore for the welfare of children in health and education.”
Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Chairman H. V. Rajeev, Mysuru City Corporation Member Pallavi Begum, Mysuru District Health Officer Dr. K. H. Prasad, Mysuru Zilla Panchayat CEO B. R. Poornima, DDPI Ramachandra Raje Urs, BEO Ramaradhya and others were present.
