vishalakshi deviMysuru: The Mysuru Palace is mourning the death of two members of the family on Friday, October 19.

While the mother of Rajamatha Pramoda Devi Wadiyar passed away on Friday morning, Vishalakshi Devi, daughter of Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar and sister of Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, died in Bengaluru on Friday evening.

Vishalakshi Devi had been suffering from health complications for some time.

She was an animal lover and had also taken care of a cub, which was later released to the Bandipur reserve forest after it was able to hunt food by itself. The bond between her and the big cat was such that the tiger used to rush to her every time she visited the forest and called for it.

She was the youngest daughter of Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar, the 25th ruler of the Wadiyar kingdom.
