Mysuru: Kodagu–Mysuru MP Pratap Simha mocked at former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah that why he is showing sudden love towards temples.

Speaking to media persons here on Friday September 17, he said that Siddaramaiah condemning the eviction of Huchagani Mahadevamma temple is a farce. If he has real love towards temples he would have never order to celebrate Tipu Jayanti to mark the birth anniversary of destroyer of idols in temples, he said and added that Siddaramaiah who tried to split Lingayat and Veerashaivas when he was in power is now shedding crocodile tears for temple destruction. His main aim is to gain political mileage, he added.

He said, “I request the Opposition not to keep criticising the Bharatiya Janata Party and waste their time. Some of the IAS officers tried to mislead Siddaramaiah when he was at the helm of affairs. They should try and understand what the Supreme Court order is, he said and added that, “I am talking about the controversy that erupted after the demolition. I am not here to point a finger at any political party. There should be a logical end to the controversy. Instead of finding a solution, some people are trying to politicise the issue. Siddaramaiah should know
what led to the problem.”

Simha said, “When we were discussing the issue at Karnataka Development Programmes (KDP) meeting, Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bagadi Gautham had mentioned that they were only following the Supreme Court order. Mistakes have been committed by successive governments,” he said and added, “IAS officers are given complete powers with the hope that they can handle the system properly. But it does not mean they can take unilateral decisions without informing the ministers.”

He added,“Siddaramaiah resorted to vote-bank politics when he was the Chief Minister and now he should not be politicising a sensitive issue.”
