Hunsur: A youth was killed on the spot in a head on collision between a car and a multi-utility vehicle near Kottegala gate on the outskirts of the town last night.
Darshan (22), resident of Kirnenahalli in Periyapatana taluk is the deceased, while his parents Yogesh and Kamala sustained grievous injuries.
The mishap occurred, when the occupants in the ill-fated car were returning home after dropping their daughter in Mysuru.
Police struggled to extricate the injured parents from the car after collision. They have been admitted to a private hospital in Mysuru.
Driver of multi-utility vehicle Tata Sumo is absconding.
Hunsur rural police have seized the vehicle and are investigating further.
