Mysuru: There are television advertisements and there are hoardings too which urge people to refrain from urinating in public places. But people simply seem to ignore these pleas and hence scenes of men urinating in open is a common scene.
However, Yuva Bharath organisation has resorted to ‘Gandhigiri’ by coming forward to felicitate people who answer nature’s call out in the open.
The organisation’s members were seen felicitating the ‘doers’ by garlanding them and handing over roses. The members have also been lauding their targets by proclaiming that they have achieved something very great in their lifetime and that they deserve to be feted.
On Thursday, Shayaji Rao road witnessed several such ‘felicitations’ by the Yuva Bharath members who are very firm in their decision to honour people urinating in open.
“We want people to be embarrassed. This felicitation will put them to shame and will also remind them about their mistake. May be, in future, they would not repeat the same mistake. We have decided to keep this campaign on,” said a member of Yuva Bharath.
Mysuru city, which has bagged first place in cleanliness in the country toppled to fifth position this year.
