Samaritan Awaits Help From People For Treatment

Mangaluru: A good samaritan who has always stepped in to aid others is now in need of help. Chethan Kumar, who lost both his legs in a train accident on Saturday August 28 while attempting to rescue a goat, is in desperate need of help.

The incident happened at Jokatte when he was on his way to his work as a bus cleaner. Chethan Kumar came to the rescue of a goat caught in a railway track. While he was attempting to save the goat, he failed to notice the speeding train approaching the track, which severed both of his legs. He is now admitted to A. J. Hospital in Mangaluru. Doctors have assured that his one leg can be restored.

Chethan Kumar is his family’s sole breadwinner, and his treatment would cost Rs. 18 lakhs. His family has reached out to every organisation and individual for help. As a result, we are making an appeal through our media to assist the victim and assist him in recovering to health and life in a safe manner.
