Udupi: Preparations are in full swing at Udupi Krishnamatha, Ratha Street, and Rajangana premises for the upcoming Ashtami festival on Wednesday, September 6, followed by the Vitla Pindi festival on Thursday, September 7.
The Shiroor Mutt has opted for an extravagant celebration of the Ashtami festival this year. Traditionally, the Shiroor Mutt has enthusiastically welcomed people dressed in a variety of costumes, including those resembling tigers. In keeping with this tradition, special money garlands have been prepared for the tiger-clad participants this year.
These garlands made of currency notes are displayed inside the mutt, and the Shiroor Seer will personally present them to individuals wearing tiger costumes who attend the festival.
The currency notes were being arranged into garlands and were inspected by Shiroor Seer Vedavardhana Theertha Sripada.
