Udupi man loses Rs 52,13,359 in online job scam

Udupi: A man fell victim to an online scam, losing Rs 52,13,359 after being enticed by a part-time job opportunity. Raghavendra, the complainant, received an unsolicited WhatsApp message from an unknown individual, enticing him with the promise of part-time employment.
Subsequently, the person, posing as a stranger, assumed the identity of an Amazon representative. He directed Raghavendra to transfer money to various bank accounts for assigned tasks. As per the instructions, victim Raghavendra sent a total of Rs 52,13,359 between August 3 and September 23. Unfortunately, the accused did not return the funds upon task completion. The CEN police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into this matter.
