Udupi: In a heartfelt gesture, the Saint Milagres Credit Souharda Cooperative Society distributed essential items to the special children of ASHA Nilayam, at a program held in the ASHA Nilam hall of Udupi Mission Compound.

Speaking on the occasion, Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna lauded the society’s commitment to social service. He noted that the cooperative has emerged as a people’s institution, playing a key role in uplifting communities while also strengthening the nation’s economy. He praised the initiative of extending support to special children, calling it a model effort for others to follow.

Adding to this, Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes, priest of Shoka Mata Church, described caring for special children and offering them education as a sacred and noble service. He commended the society for organizing such meaningful outreach programs that embody compassion and inclusivity.

The event was attended by several dignitaries and staff, including customers Alphonso DeCosta and Krishna Babu Rao, Development Officer Manish, Udupi Branch Manager Pramila Lobo, Debt Recovery Officer Gautam Rai, and branch staff Sandesh, Nishith, Ajayashetty, Shashank, Roshan Mendonsa, Dhanush, Jayashree Prabhu, Suvidha, and Jasmine. ASHA Nilayam Headmistress Eunice Christabel and Warden Divya Jyoti were also present.

The program highlighted the cooperative’s philosophy of service beyond banking, creating a strong impact in society through compassionate initiatives that bring hope and encouragement to those in need.
