Thirteen of twenty men accused of threatening to kill Shrikantha Poojary, 28, were arrested by Udupi police following a violent confrontation in Hadavu village on October 18. Police report that the main accused, Sachin Poojary, arrived wielding a pistol and an iron pipe fitted with a sharp weapon, alongside others armed with weapons, and threatened to kill Shrikantha. The altercation occurred around 7:15 pm when the accused confronted the complainant and his friends near Sri Mahavishnu Temple Cross Road.

During the confrontation, Shivakumar Hebbar and Manu Hebbar attempted to intervene but were assaulted, leaving Shivakumar injured on his hand and leg and Manu with a head injury. Shortly after, the attackers pursued Shrikantha to an electrical shop, where Sachin allegedly pointed a pistol at his head, threatening his life. The dispute reportedly stems from an old rivalry between Shrikantha and one of the accused, Vishwanath Padukone.

Police have secured 13 of the accused, including Sachin and two minors. Eleven were sent to judicial custody, while the minors were referred to the Juvenile Justice Board. The police seized four two-wheelers and an air pistol, which the forensic wing is assessing for licensing requirements.
