Dr. H. Venkatesh, an expert in agriculture and climate, explained that this occurrence is a natural process caused by refraction when bright sunlight passes through thin cirrus clouds high above the earth’s surface at altitudes of approximately 12 to 15 km. He reassured that there is no cause for concern as these halos eventually disappear over time.

The children of Ghonasagi Tanda Government Junior Primary School in Tikota taluk were among those who marveled at this rare celestial display surrounding the sun. It was indeed a remarkable experience that provided them with firsthand knowledge about this awe-inspiring natural event.
