Supply school uniforms to students on time: ZP CEO

Karwar: Proper arrangements need to be made to supply school uniforms to the students, Zilla Panchayat CEO M Roshan instructed on June 12.

He was addressing a KDP meeting at the ZP hall. Reviewing the last year’s performance, he informed that only the first set of uniforms were distributed whereas the second set remained undistributed.

“This year, the DDPIs of Karwar and Sirsi should take measures to distribute the proper-size uniforms to the students as scheduled. Also for the first time, SSLC exams are being held during the rainy seasons and all precautions need to be taken,” he asserted.

District Agricultural department Joint Director Honappa Gowda said that the target for seed plantation in the district is at 72 thousand hectors and 38 per cent of the sowing has been completed. “It has rained 20 per cent extra than expected. There is a demand for 8800 quintals of seedings and 7590 quintals have already been disbursed, out of which 4940 quintals have been supplied to the farmers and 2680 quintals are still in stock,” he said. He also informed about the fertilizer in stock.

District health and family welfare officer Sharad Nayak informed that his department has successfully contained the spread of the novel coronavirus infection in the district. Patients between the ages of five and 90 have been treated and people need not worry about Covid-19. He urged the public to take precautions and stay safe.

Labour department officer Kumar BR informed that they have not engaged any agencies and that job seekers must to register their names at the department office itself.

ZP President Jayashree Moger, VP Santhosh Renake, ZP members, and other officials were present.
