Knife threat at Bengaluru smoke shop ends in swift police action

BENGALURU: Chaos erupted at a smoke shop in Adugodi when two individuals sparked fear among bystanders. The Bengaluru Police responded quickly, arresting the primary suspect and reinforcing their stance on law enforcement.

The altercation began when the duo got into a heated dispute with the shopkeeper. In the middle of the argument, one of them brandished a knife, intimidating the shopkeeper and shocking onlookers. A video of the incident spread rapidly on social media, prompting users to tag Bengaluru Police and demand urgent intervention.

Acting without delay, officers apprehended the main accused. In a witty social media update, police referenced the popular Kannada song “Ningidu Bekitta Magane,” writing, “When you think flashing a knife will get you free smokes, but all it earns you is a free ride to the station.”

The swift action won public praise. One user commented, “Keep them locked up… If they can carry a weapon, they won’t hesitate to use it.” Others urged police to tackle broader crime issues, citing rising intimidation by auto and cab drivers.

While some called for stricter crime prevention, others lauded the police’s creative approach. “It’s hard to dislike the cops when they post memes like these,” one user noted.
