Spreading awareness about mental health has become more important now than ever before since the Covid outbreak! With the theme of ‘Mental Health In Unequal World’, Anirvedha, a fully-fledged center for allied health assessment, therapy and training in Mangaluru is all set to collaborate with NewsKarnataka for a yearlong project to conduct wellbeing sessions for various target groups.
The objective is to reach different groups that have difficulty with accessibility to mental health. The sessions will be organised once a month targeting a different group each month. With the support of NewsKarnataka, Anirvedha will identify specific organisation and groups for the sessions planned. Various resource persons from Team Anirvedha will conduct the sessions. The session will be held once a month with each session extending for a duration of 90 minutes.
The target groups for this unique project include Media Professionals, HIV positive children, Asha workers/ Government disability workers, Police personnel, prisoners, waste management personnel, old age homes, LGBTQ Community, bus drivers and conductors, fishermen community and farmers.
The goal of the programme is to reach out to groups that are otherwise denied accessibility and provide them with agency on working on their psychological wellbeing.
