Puttur: Canteen owner stabbed to death, accused nabbed

Puttur: A woman from Anantady died after she was stabbed by a miscreant near Janapriya Hall, Nettamudnur in Bantwal Taluk on Monday June 27.

The deceased has been identified as Shakunthala (35). She was running a canteen in Puttur. The incident occurred when she was on the way to Puttur from Vittal on a two-wheeler. An autorickshaw driver Sridhar way laid her and allegedly stabbed her.

Shakunthala’s husband has lodged a complaint by her husband Sanjeeva D. He has stated that the deceased was travelling in the accused’s autorickshaw, who is also her relative to the canteen and after she bought two-wheeler stopped his services. This might have created bad blood between the two. A case has been registered at the Vittal Police Station and the accused has been nabbed.
