Lorry Halt at Ambalapadi Junction Sparks Major Traffic Snarl
Udupi: A long traffic jam unfolded at Ambalapadi junction after a lorry came to a halt in the middle of the road, adding to the woes already caused by the ongoing highway overpass construction.
Due to the construction activities, all vehicles have been diverted to a narrow service road, which was already struggling to handle the increased traffic flow. The situation took a turn for the worse when a poorly parked lorry obstructed the movement of heavy vehicles, severely affecting traffic mobility.
With large trucks and buses inching forward at a snail’s pace, commuters faced delays and frustration. The bottleneck created by the halted lorry led to a pile-up of vehicles stretching for kilometers, disrupting the otherwise busy highway route.
The overpass construction, while a long-term solution for traffic improvement, is currently posing significant short-term challenges for road users, especially during peak hours. Locals and regular commuters have urged authorities to ensure better traffic management and parking discipline around construction zones.
They demand that such blockages be prevented by deploying traffic personnel and enforcing strict parking regulations to avoid repeat incidents.
Swift and coordinated efforts by both the construction team and traffic department are essential to ease congestion and ensure safer roads.
