ganap M 2882020Madikeri: The Special Public Representatives’ Court has rejected the B-Report filed by the CBI in connection to DySP Ganapathy suicide case, thereby increasing the worries of former minister KJ George.

DySP Ganapathy’s body was found hanging at Vinayaka Lodge in room number 315, on July 7, 2016, in Madikeri. Prior to his death, he had given an interview to a television channel, making references to harassment from former minister Mr K J George and two senior police officers Pranab Mohanthy and A M Prasad.

Judge Tyagaraj N Enavalli has now rejected the B-Report and issued summons to all the three.

It may be recalled that after CID submitted a ‘B’ report in the case, Kushalappa, father of Ganapathi moved the Supreme Court in an appeal to hand over the case to CBI.

In September 2017, the Apex Court ordered CBI probe in the case and the CBI, after probing the case submitted a B-Report giving clean-chit to George and the two IPS officers.

In its ‘B Report’, the CBI stated that there are no evidences that George, the then Home Minister and two senior IPS Officers abetted his suicide and that Ganapathy was suffering from depression, which may have driven him to end life.

Close on the heels of this development, Nihal, son of Ganapathy moved the Court and now the Court has rejected the B-Report, stating that despite many evidences for abetment to suicide, the CBI has filed a B Report.

The hearing has been postponed to September 28.
