Madikeri: A high school teacher in Madikeri attended to her allotted SSLC valuation work on Monday even though her mother had died a few hours previously. She attended the final rites after completing her day’s work.

The mother of Kavita, a high school teacher from Bettageri died on Monday morning. Kavita was assigned SSLC valuation work at the Madikeri center.

As this year’s SSLC examination was held late and every day counts for the students, Kavita decided to postpone her mother’s final rites till the evening. She arrived at the examination center and participated in the evaluation of manuscripts. The final rites were held after she returned from her day’s work.

Primary and secondary education minister S Suresh Kumar called her a mother for SSLC students. “I don’t have any words to describe her noble deed,” he said.
