Man Dies After Russell’s Viper Bite in Bajpe

A tragic incident occurred in Bajpe, where 55-year-old Ramachandra Poojary lost his life after being bitten by a venomous Russell’s Viper, which he had mistakenly believed to be harmless.
On September 12, a Russell’s Viper was spotted in the Bajpe area. Ramachandra, thinking it was a non-venomous snake, tried to catch it with his hands. Unfortunately, the snake bit him.
Initially dismissing the bite as minor, he returned home. However, his condition worsened by the evening, leading to his hospitalization. Sadly, Ramachandra passed away the following day, on Friday, September 13.
