
Man Sentenced to One Year for 2014 Rash Driving Case in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: A 49-year-old man, Rajashekar, has been sentenced to one year in prison for rash and negligent driving that resulted in a fatality in Bengaluru in 2014. The incident occurred on August 11, 2014, when Rajashekar, driving a military truck, collided with an auto-rickshaw. The crash led to the death of one passenger and left another injured.
Rajashekar faced charges under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 279 (rash or negligent driving), 337 (causing hurt by endangering life or personal safety), and 304A (causing death by negligence, not amounting to culpable homicide). The RT Nagar traffic police tracked him to his residence in Himachal Pradesh and executed the Convicted Arrest Warrant.
Following a four-day transit warrant, he was brought back to Bengaluru for a medical examination at Bowring Hospital. Rajashekar was subsequently produced before the 6th MMTC Court, which sentenced him to a one-year imprisonment term for his actions.
