Mangaluru: Eyewitnesses, and anyone possessing information about the December 19, 2019 Mangaluru police firing incident, are being given time till Tuesday, August 11, to depose before the magistrate.

Udupi district Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh, who is heading the inquiry, requested all those who have information regarding the incident to depose before him at the Mini Vidhana Soudha in Mangaluru on Tuesday.

He clarified that this is the last opportunity for the general public to provide any information regarding the case.

The last date was previously set for the last week of March, however, this was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown.

It can be recalled that two people lost their lives in the police firing that occurred on December 19, 2019, after violence broke out during an anti-CAA protest near State Bank in the city.
