Mangaluru: The BJP Government will see a fall in the State in next six months said All India Congress Committee (AICC)Secretary Ivan D’Souza while commenting on CM Basavaraj Somappa Bommai and Former Prime Minister Deve Gowda’s recent meeting.
Speaking to media persons here on Monday August 2, he said that there is yet again conundrum within the party and therefore, as BJP is facing a crisis the CM decided to meet the JD (S) veteran, he observed.
Stating that even Deve Gowda is waiting for the State Government to fall, Ivan added that he is in the hopes of taking the reins.
Corona cases on rise, weekend curfew likely
Speaking on Corona situation in the district, Ivan said that there is a probability of weekend curfew being imposed in Dakshina Kannada by the Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K. V. in the wake of increasing Covid cases in the district. Due to rise of Corona cases In Kerala, it has affected the Covid situation in the district too.
Ivan informed that according to reports there are 1.1 lakh students in the district and it is mandatory to get vaccinated if they have to attend the college. So far, only 63000 students have received first dose and therefore what about the rest of 57000 students, he questioned. This situation has exposed the severe shortage of vaccine in the district, he added and alleged that lack of proper supply of vaccination is responsible for the third wave that is dangling like a sword on our head.
He maintained that free vaccination has not been made available to even 20% of the people in the district. DC has to give information on the same so that the public can have clarity on this issue, he said.
