Mangaluru: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has launched ‘Bharat Air Fibre Services’ on Friday, March 5 to benefit rural customers in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.
Addressing the media persons, Ravi GR, Principal General Manager of Dakshina Kannada Telecom District, said This service is currently available in two villages in the Dakshina Kannada district Doddatota and Kamila. More villages in the Bantwal and Vittal regions will be served by this service in the near future.
In rural areas, ‘Bharat Air Fibre’ offers wireless connectivity from BSNL locations. I t has a range of up to 20 kilometres. However, since most rural areas in Dakshina Kannada are in hilly regions, the wireless service’s range would be less than 20 kilometres, he added.
Customers will get a speed of above 60 Mbps and data of up to 3300 GB per month under ‘Bharat Air Fibre’, he informed.
