Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner of the Dakshina Kannada district, Dr K V Rajendra tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, October 13.
According to sources, the DC has not yet shown any symptoms and is presently under home quarantine along with his wife and child.
Dr Rajendra, however, is continuing to perform his duties from his home office and the people have been requested to contact him only through calls, SMS, or WhatsApp.
As the number of COVID-19 cases are have been on the rise in the district, officials have resorted to levying penalties on those found out in public without masks or violating social distancing norms.
