Dakshina Kannada reports 204 new COVID cases, five deaths

Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district on Friday, July 31, reported 204 new COVID-19 positive cases and five deaths as a result of the disease.

According to the bulletin released by the district administration, the deceased are: a 47-year-old man from Mangaluru (died on July 30), 75-year-old man from Bantwal (died on July 30), 63-year-old woman from Mangaluru (died on July 30), 88-year-old woman from Davanagere (died on July 30), and a 75-year-old man from Mangaluru (died on July 30).

Additionally, the bulletin states that there are a total of 5,713 positive cases have been reported in the district, of which 2,929 are active.

On a positive note, 70 people were discharged after making a full recovery. So far, 2,631 people have been discharged.

As many as 40,706 samples have been tested so far for COVID-19.
