Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district registered 149 fresh cases and ten COVID-19 deaths, on Wednesday, August 5.
Of the ten deceased, seven are from the Mangaluru taluk and one each is from Puttur, Belthangady, and one other district. All of them had comorbidities.
The total COVID positive cases stand at 6,542, while 3,343 are active cases.
The district’s total COVID fatality stands at 190.
As many as 82 patients were discharged, on Wednesday from Wenlock and private hospitals.
Among the 149 new cases, 79 are from Mangaluru, 16 are from Bantwal, 21 are from Belthangady, 20 are from Puttur, one from Sullia, and 12 are from other districts, the district health bulletin informed.
