Kannada Culture Conference Chairman calls to use language to spread harmony

Mangaluru: The 13th National Kannada Culture Conference concluded recently with eminent Kannada speakers calling all to use language to spread harmony

KP Manjunath Sagar, Chairman of the Kannada Culture Conference Committee welcomed the guests to the closing ceremony held at the Kudmal Rangarao Hall in Mangaluru recently. Dr Satish Hosmani, Mukyamantri Chandru, Dr Mahesh Joshi, Shivraj, MLA UT Khader, Dilip Kumar participated.  The vote of thanks was proposed by Go Na Swamy.

MLA UT Khader hoped that this program would inspire more such programs to be held and emphasised that language is not just a language but it is also our life, our culture and our personality.

Dr S K Hosmani, Director of Bangalore Public Library called upon all to make good use of the Kannada resources available at the Kannada Digital Library, Nadoja Dr Mahesh Joshi recalled the words of Bendre that people do not attend literary programs in droves buy it is the interested people who come and spread their message to lakhs of people who did not come. He said that Its writing, reading and oratory diversity have made Kannada an outstanding language.

Mukyamantri Chandru, former president of Kannada Development Authority appreciated that Kannada language and culture will be strengthened by such programs. He said that In this world, there are 6500 to 7000 languages and in India alone there are 2500 languages. India is rich with its language diversity. We should respect all languages equally.  There should not be any kind of discrimination based on language. Language won’t die, but it is also not static. When used, it will grow and develop with time. Each language has its own originality and it should be preserved. Language is for communication and no one language should overtake others.
